If you need help to expand your forum presentation, here is a quick guide to improve it. There is no obligation to follow this guide, but it is always more pleasant to see a well-made presentation.

1° : Content

Your presentation represents your identity on the forum, contrary to popular belief, it does not necessarily have to contain a large amount of information. The idea here is to highlight the information you want to share.

Before you make your presentation, think for a few seconds about what you want to convey as a message, how do you want to be seen by other members, like a football player who is totally into his sport, or as a fanatic of series in all kinds?

Once you have an idea of what you want to share, do-it-yourself! It’s a simple principle that seems so complicated. To give you a clue, let’s take the example of a series fanatic:

Instead of saying «I’m a fan of series», develop in: «I like watching series like Arrow, Flash, The Walking Dead,... Post-apocalyptic and even a little bit fantastic series are my thing.”
In both cases, you reveal the same information, but the more developed way allows more "openings", we will be able to interact with you more easily.

2° : The shape

To make your presentation, you don’t have to be an artist! When we talk about form, we don’t usually talk about images, but rather the shape of your presentation.

Please avoid one-sentence presentations, involve yourself a minimum, here’s how to make your presentation much more formal:
  • Break your presentation into paragraphs, it’s a simple rule: 1 idea = 1 paragraph.
Your presentation can be formed as follows: 1st paragraph = introduction, 2nd paragraph = passions, etc...
  • Expand, but don’t get lost. You can develop an idea, but from the moment you lose the idea of your paragraph, it is superfluous.
Do not write unnecessary text for a longer presentation, expand and be concise.
  • Make your presentation more appealing, a text with smaller paragraphs (like this guide) is more attractive than a text with 10km paragraphs.

Well, I don’t have any other advice for you at this time, but I reserve the right to add content if I have something else to say.

Good writing!
